The reason was lack of enrollment, though it was all handled a little strangely, and I expect we would have filled the thing eventually. Budget issues seem to be in the driver's seat right now. I'm working now on how to move ahead with the online course, and with a possible face-to-face course locally on some related materials. The show must go on!
Damn shame. I think you'll find the online course a very positive experience in peer production. There should be a wide range of people willing to kick in a reasonable sum of money for it, and because the overhead is virtually zero, the money from even a minority of paying customers will be free and clear: the Radiohead model of higher education.Good luck!
